Why You’re Struggling To Grow Your Client Base
Too often I see blog posts or other online content that talks about what a business does, or what type of products or services they offer. While this type of content is necessary, to a certain degree, you’re missing the mark as a business owner, and will struggle to grow your client base or loyalty with that type of marketing.
This Form Of Amnesia Can Cost You Everything
As a business owners, you may have a tendency to become so focused on what you want or need, that you forget about what your clients and customers need. This form of amnesia can ruin your business and cost you everything. You really just need to put yourself in the customer’s shoes and remember that it’s all about them, if you really want to attract customers or clients online.
I’ll Know What I Need When You Tell Me
Instead of telling a consumer what you have and can give them, tell them what need you can fill. Give them the answer to the question they have, the solution to the problem they’re experiencing, or the relief from the pain or frustration they’re feeling. This is important for many reasons:
- To establish you as the “expert” in the industry
- To creates trust and build the clients faith in your knowledge
- To get your business found online
They Can’t Do Business With You If They Can’t Find You
#3 is the most important of all, and the most misunderstood, and here’s why; they can’t do business with you if they can’t find you! A consumer may not know what they need, they only know what problem or symptom they’re having, and that is what they’ll type into a search engine.
Be The Hero And Win A New Client’s Loyalty And Business
For example-someone that’s experiencing jaw pain may type the phrase “relief from jaw pain” into a search engine, such as Google. Now, this consumer may be suffering from something called TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) but they don’t realize it. This is where a dentist would step in (with shiny red tights and his/her cape flapping in the wind) with a blog post that incorporates key words and key phrases that would be a match for the symptoms that a patient is having. The blog post would contain information about what TMJ is, what some causes are, and what type of treatment can be used to relieve the pain. Bada boom, Bada bang, you’ve now won over a new patient because you were able to solve their problem and give them hope.
It’s You Or The Guy That’s Pitching Them With How Great He Is
So… who do you think that potential patient would choose as a dentist? There’s you; the expert that has just helped them and asked for nothing in return, but clearly knows what they’re talking about, or the pompous dentist; the guy (or gal) that’s pitching them with how clean his/her facility is and how much all of his patients love to have him stick needles in their mouth. Hmmmm…? No brainer, right?
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and be someone’s hero and Get Your Business Found Online!
